Day Twenty-Two, May 13, 2015

Grand Canyon to Sedona, AZ........
It's a short drive to Sedona from the Grand Canyon which gets very scenic from Flagstaff in into  Sedona.  This time Tom drove the hairpin turns and sheer drop offs.  I constantly had to remind him not to drive 10 mph since it backed up the traffic for miles.  He trembled and moaned his way into Sedona.

This was my third visit to Sedona and it's just as beautiful as ever.  Plenty of stunning views, great restaurants (Javelina and Relics).

Here's another trip factoid update.

Upon entering UT we hit our 25 state since leaving MA.
As of May 13 we exceeded 6,000 miles in distance,  averaging 51 mph.
Our crack windshield has worsened but we are confident it will remain intact to LA.
The car is getting a bit trashed on the inside.  Looks like we have been living in it.
Tom's infamous plaid blazer has a fan club of its own.  I am praying for warmer temps so he will have no excuse to wear it.
We are closely approaching 5,000 page views on this blog.  Our goal at the end of the trip is to have the same number of page views as we do mileage on the car.
Yes, we do have a finale music video in rehearsal.  We are currently acquiring wardrobe for this video. Stay tuned.
We have now agreed the two best overnight hotel chains are Hampton Inns and Holiday Inn Express.

For some reason Tom feels this sign justifies his fear of suddenly being thrust over the edge by some unknown force.

From Sedona we had to do some backtracking back through Flagstaff enroute to our next destination of Zion National Park in UT.

Coming soon Zion National Park, Las Vegas

  1. I think it's commendable the two of you are still speaking to each other. A lot of time in close quarters. Still enjoying the vicarious trip from here. Thanks.
