Day Fourteen & Fifteen, May 4 & 5, 2015

New Orleans to Independence, LA.....

A little back tracking north from New Orleans to meet up with our other high school buddy Rich Schuman, his fiancee, Leah Wolverton, Rich's daughter, and her husband, Amy and Paul Durnin.
We had a great Mexican dinner at La Carreta in nearby Hammond, LA.
Paul, Amy, Rich, Tom, John

We managed to recreate a photo we took with our friend, Steve Ruppe in 1965 once again in 2015.  Steve was not with us this time but who knows maybe we can recreate it again in 50 years.

Leah and Rich joined us in Macomb, MS on May 5 at The Dinner Bell where we ate boarding house style.  You ask what does that mean????
We sat at a round table that seated 16 and served our selves from an eight foot lazy susan loaded with bowls of southern cooking.  Spoiler alert this will make you hungry, fried chicken, baked chicken, chicken and dumplings, meatloaf, mashed potatoes and two kinds of gravy, green beans, lima beans, cole slaw, potato salad, collard greens, sweet potato casserole, corn bread, biscuits, black eyed peas, sweet and unsweetened tea and banana pudding.  We waddled from the restaurant and said good bye to Rich and Leah.

Off to Bossier City, LA for a quick visit with old buddy Mike Tinsley and his wife Robin.

We have over 4,000 miles on the old Hyundai Santa Fe and over 2,700 page views on this blog.  Our journey heads west tomorrow into northeast Texas for some cemetery visits of John's maternal ancestors and then back east briefly in Fayetteville, AR for a family visit.

Visit the blog often.  We want 10,000 page views by May 20.  Tell your friends.
